AGRESSIVE DOG BEHAVIOR WHEN MEETING SOME NEW DOGs?

I have a 5 year old Brittnay and we rescued her she is the sweetest girl to humans and some SOME other dogs more like 1 or 2 but she shows agressive growling and like shes going to attack on most other dogs. How can i change this behavior becuase on walks i want her to be nice to other dogs and at my frends house. HELP PLEASE!AGRESSIVE DOG BEHAVIOR WHEN MEETING SOME NEW DOGs?
This isn't aggressive behaviour it is a sign that other dogs make your dog uncomfortable. Its defensive/fearful behaviour. Look into going to see a behaviourist that will do desensitization training with your dog. In the meantime to help with the behaviour every time your dog sees another dog and reacts like this give her a treat. This creates a positive reaction every time she sees a dog. Eventually she will look forward to seeing another dog b/c she knows she will get a treat. In works best if you use a %26quot;special%26quot; treat like a piece of cheese, carrot or meat.

Add: Please do NOT do what the person below me said about pushing your dog to the floor and making them be submissive this is very dangerous to do! And it can result in your dog biting you.AGRESSIVE DOG BEHAVIOR WHEN MEETING SOME NEW DOGs?
I have a girl pug and she is the same way, especially in or around our fence. What I do is I guide her towards any dogs, cats or people and make sure that she gets to smell and that it's going to be okay. When she starts growling, I immediately take her away tell her NO, then as soon as she stop her negative behavior toward other dogs, then I try again. The behavior your described is normal by the way, just make sure you tell her that it's going to be OKAY and scratch her behind the ears. Good luck!AGRESSIVE DOG BEHAVIOR WHEN MEETING SOME NEW DOGs?
You should really look into some dog training classes. If you try to fix this yourself, and your dog attacks another, you'll probably be in for a lawsuit, so training will save you money down the road. I don't recommend that people try to fix aggression on their own, you need someone who knows how to deal with it.AGRESSIVE DOG BEHAVIOR WHEN MEETING SOME NEW DOGs?
I would try training classes, and definately socialize the dog as soon as you can. Don't give up though b/c the dog is older so it is going to take a lot of patience and hard work.AGRESSIVE DOG BEHAVIOR WHEN MEETING SOME NEW DOGs?
Oh...Ceasar Milan, where are you when I need you???...ha!

Your dog needs to be trained to do differently. Sometimes, as a practice. You take your dog and another dog. Bring them together and see what happens. If your dog attachs. Take her and push her to the floor with your hand. Not to hurt her, hard enough to make it submit. And make her stay there. If she resists keep at it. If you give up, then she thinks SHE is the leader of the pact, and not the other way around.

Allow the other dog to roam freely around her. Allow the other dog to come to her and snif, what ever it feels like doing. Once you hear and see her big sigh. You can begin to let off on the pressure and eventually remove your hand. She should remain laying on the floor, no matter what you do and what anything or anyone around her does. She has to learn to stay put.

When she is calm, and she has completely stayed laying down. Then bring her to her feet. If she attachs the other dog again. Re-start the process of making her submit again.

Now if it seems that your dog and another are coming together agressively. Then the submit process has to be done to BOTH DOGS.

Then once this is accomplished, try again to bring them together. With practice your dogs behavior should subside, and soon you should be able to go for walks peacfully. Or greet other dogs peacefully.

Somehow, your dog has aquired that this agressivness is the way to be. In the pact, the lead dog would do to another dog what I have suggested for misbehaving. The lead dog will apply intense pressure if need be to get a member of their pact to submit. (it is like the lead dog saying...%26quot;either say Uncle or this is going to hurt!!!...ha) Even to the point of using teeth, if this is what it is going to take to get another dog to behave.

Check out Ceasar Milan on the internet, and find his vewing times. He is wonderful with dogs of all behaviors. His shows have so much to offer. But I swear that what he does, is magical. The dogs just seem to adapt to him without too much effort. Most of the time.AGRESSIVE DOG BEHAVIOR WHEN MEETING SOME NEW DOGs?
You cant. get a new dog. its built up in its genes from years of inbreeding.
