Yorkie with change in walking behavior?

My two year old Yorkie used to LOVE going for walks around the neighborhood and of course it was a great excuse for me to get out for a little exercise. Recently, we get barely around the corner and he %26quot;puts the brakes on%26quot;!

I use the same command as before %26quot; Let's Go%26quot; with a slight tug of his leash, but its a %26quot;no go%26quot;! Why the change in behavior and any ideas on how to correct it- I miss my walking buddy...Yorkie with change in walking behavior?
has your dog been sleeping excessively lately? loss of apetite?

not to scare you, but your dog may be suffering from depression...

one thing is certain: you are the best companion she has and you can help her thru this... you can consider consulting a vet, but try to set more time for play and bonding first... take her out in the park to see other dogs ang socialize, observe any changes...

this maybe able to guide you: http://dogtime.com/depression.html

hope you get back your walking buddy...Yorkie with change in walking behavior?
My moms dog does this. My mom spoils her dog. With animals you need to be the leader not the other way around so it would be that she thinks you do what she wants or maybe it could be a health reason. Have her legs checked by a vet get an x-ray done just to rule any thing with that because later if you found out it was due to problems with her legs you would feel terrible.Yorkie with change in walking behavior?
Something probably startled her. Try going around the corner in the opposite direction next time. Or pick her up and carry her around the corner.Yorkie with change in walking behavior?
my yorkie done the same so i just drove 2 the nearest park and let him run around and after that he forgot about his fear of walking outside the houseYorkie with change in walking behavior?
she could be scared by sounds or smells, and want to get back to the safety of her house. If it continues I would take him to the vets, toy breeds often have trouble with luxating patellas, and it could be that walking is painful for him, generally luxating patellas will get progressively worse, and you're better off catching it as soon as you can to help alleviate the pain.
