You don't. The person has to come to the conclusion themself and to seek to change it for themself. How can you advice a mature person to change his behavior?
I agree with Three WhatsHow can you advice a mature person to change his behavior?
if they end up in a situation where they are forced to accept others over herself, say..the military...they might BREAK! but there are other ways...im sure of it, good luckHow can you advice a mature person to change his behavior?
The problem is that you do not accept her for who she is. Her actions are to isolate herself from others so that she does have to change. Your problem is that you are attracted to being around her. It will only be when she misses you or others that she will search out the light.

You could ask her if she is willing to listen to you but you may not like the answer. How can you advice a mature person to change his behavior?
Anyone can change their behavior if they want to. Most behaviors are learned and therefore, can be unlearned. The key here is that the person has to want to change. The person must define the behaviors they want to change. Next, they need to find a good therapist that specializes in behavior modification who will teach the person the skills to change. Psychiatrists treat mental illness with medication. They are doctors and don't have the time for individual therapy.
