How does a dog's behavior change when she is in heat?

I have a female beagle who is in her 2nd heat cycle. I wanted to get her spayed when i got my tax refund, but she beat me to it, lol. Anyway, her first cycle wasn't bad, didn't much change in her demanor but this time she seems almost depressed, she's kinda slow and unmotivated to do anything other than go outside, which I don't let her do unless I'm there 2 watch her. She will start howling and crying out of the blue (well, seems it is to me) I'm figuring she's now in that mid-cycle where she's looking to accept a male cuz her bleeding has pretty much stopped and the drama has begun, heh..How does a dog%26039;s behavior change when she is in heat?
You can have her spayed while she is in heat, do it now!!How does a dog%26039;s behavior change when she is in heat?
Are you serious?! You spade the little horney buggard. How does a dog%26039;s behavior change when she is in heat?
Better keep an eye on her as the males will nearly go thru fire to find her for a little afternoon delight. How does a dog%26039;s behavior change when she is in heat?
Please do not listen to anyone that tells you to take your beagle to get spade while in heat. It is harder for the vet to work on her and a lot of the time, the vet will tell you to take the dog home and come back later. I used to be a vet tech so I know first hand the complications it causes for the vet while in heat.

Her behavior really shouldn't change. Dogs are easy in that way - unlike cats who act very strange... As for the yelping, well she is a beagle - therefore it is very common for a beagle to yelp all the time. They were originallly hunting dogs, thereupon it is the nature of the breed.

Just make sure that you keep a close eye on her as you already have stated you are doing, and make sure she eats and drinks the same amount of food and water. Going through a cycle is very normal for an animal. She is not in pain and is still that happy puppy! Good Luck with the newbie!
